Shamsul Arefeen

Mr. Shamsul Arefeen is an enthusiastic Entrepreneur. Having completed his M.Sc in Computer Science & Engineering from University of Dhaka, Bangladesh and a 2nd MS degree in Software Engineering from Texas State University, USA, Arefeen has years of experience working in different multinational and local organizations home and abroad. His experience specially in Program Coordination, Project Management, Operation Management, Business Development, Team Management, Team Motivation and Maintenance along with Strategic Planning and Decision Making played a very important role in the organizations.
Mr. Arefeen can be tagged as a results-producing Business leader and coach spanning 20+ years showcasing year over year improvements in office productivity, operational efficiency, customer service ratings and team collaboration / retention. He excels at turning under-producing individuals into teams that work efficiently and exceed all expectations. Arefeen’s efforts in customer service management and crisis management is well noted.
Mr. Arefeen has engaged himself as an adjunct faculty with different universities in Dhaka, teaching several M.Sc & B.Sc level courses on Software Engineering. His work on CMMI implementation in the IT industries in Bangladesh and on bridging the gap between academia and industry is well reputed. During 2007 to 2009, Mr. Arefeen worked as the Program Coordinator ( LEIC, CIDA) and trained a good number of industry professionals ( 200+ Engineers) along with QAI, India to make them facing the CMMI Institute ( SEI, Carnegie Mellon University, USA ) assessments. Under his active leadership five leading IT companies in Dhaka like DataSoft, LeadSoft, SouthTech, IBCS-Primax and Spectrum Engineering achieved their CMMI Level -3 certifications, first time in Bangladesh. He was the CMMI – SCAMPI A ( ATM) Appraisal Team Member for those five leading IT companies in Bangladesh.
Mr. Arefeen turned out as a serial entrepreneur and has been engaged founding different start up companies not only in tech industries but also in export / import, supply chain, consulting, and agro business. On behalf of the private sector, being the Managing Partner of ‘Adventa Solutions’ and Adviser of ‘ Flow Digital Ltd.’ he played a pivotal role in the Entrepreneurship Skill Development Project (ESDP) organized by Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA). His organizations worked with ESDP, BIDA and conducted / coordinated the ESDP’s countrywide skill development training programs which trained some 2400+ entrepreneurs nationwide ( 2019-2021) and the successful delivery of the trainings, trainers, training modules among the trainees was well reputed.
Mr. Arefeen is a well read and well travelled professional having very amicable and professional composure. He has studied, worked and lived in different states of United States of America (USA). He has also travelled many countries like Sultanate of Oman, UAE, Germany, Denmark, Netherlands, Japan, India, Thailand, Nepal, Bhutan for job and attending various professional seminars, symposiums.
